Emirates ID signs agreement with SCA

Emirates ID signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA) aiming to enhance areas of cooperation. It also aims to benefit from expertise and capabilities of Emirates ID in line with common interest to serve the nation and improve customer service.
The agreement was signed by His Excellence Dr. Eng. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General and Mr. Abdullah Salem Al-Turifi, SCA CEO in presence of a number of officials from both sides.
News published in a number of local newspapers today reported that signing the agreement comes in keenness of the two sides to support and strengthen strategic partnership relationships between them and unite mutual efforts to serve different segments of customers. This should have a positive impact on economic and social aspects and achieve encompassing interest.
Emirates ID Director General stressed that the authority is keen on contributing in supporting all government institutions in the UAE through the activation of the ID card applications in order to achieve the strategic goal of this advanced national project. This project aims to contribute in accelerating the development process in the UAE especially in the public service sectors and achieve the vision of our wise leaders and strategic plans of the government as well as relevant projects and initiatives.
Dr. Al Khouri stated that SCA is keen on benefitting more from the ID card applications and advanced features in organizing securities and commodities markets in the UAE and developing their services and transactions to enhance sound practice among customers. This can be done through upgrading the degree of accuracy of records and verifying the identity of customers in stock markets in the UAE through a permanent identity number that is given once for individual.
Al-Turifi commended the active use of ID card by nationals and expatriates in the securities sector transactions in line with the government trend to adopt the ID card as main and permanent source of data and information to improve performance and simplify procedures.
He stressed that by virtue of this agreement, SCA will adopt the use of the ID card in framework of integration with the infrastructure provided by Emirates ID and to benefit from the e-voting systems. This should provide the technical support necessary to ensure the provision of services to SCA customers in line with legal and technical frameworks that comply with the terms of the agreement between both parties.
Emirates ID discussed the major developments achieved in its projects foremost among which are the digital identity project (e-authentication center) and e-linking with government entities project. SCA also presented its major projects. Finally, the two sides exchanged memorial shields.
